North East India occupies an important and unique place in the indigenous textile space of our country. Puan, the traditional clothing of the natives of Mizoram which are woven skirts beautifully done by the women on the loin loom that empowers them financially.
Traditionally Puans, in each color, motifs, design are the cultural representation of the Mizos. These skirts are colorful, textured, ankle length skirts, though like a wrap around not typically a wrap around.
After quite a months of trial and error The Harper's Lane has redefined the style of the outfit in pastel hues and weaved fabrics with a bohemian touch so that it could retain the rustic look of the two unconstrained cultures and hoping to get it back in the mainstream fashion.
